Emma was born on September 20th, 1859 in Barking Essex and her christening took place in September 1859 at St Margaret's Church Barking.¹ Emma's father was John Thomas Quash (Smack Owner) and her mother was Mary Amelia Mills . Her paternal grandparents were Andrew Quash (pos born Exeter) and Elizabeth Hall; her maternal grandparents were James Bird Mills (Ironmonger) and Jane Machin. She had five brothers and seven sisters, named John, John, James, William, NOT NAMED, Mary , Jane, Elizabeth, Clara, Emma, Maria and Maria. She was the sixth oldest of the thirteen children. She died at the age of 1 on August 1st, 1861 in Northbury House Barking. The funeral took place at St Margaret's Church Barking. She was buried at St Margaret's Church Barking.¹²
