Frederick was born in 1873 in Manchester, Lancashire, England.  Frederick's father was Robert GREGORY and his mother was Emma CROOK.  His maternal grandparents were Francis CROOK and Hannah RHOADES.  He had three brothers and a sister, named William, Robert, Francis and Ellen.  He was the second oldest of the five children.
