Present at death-Catherine X her mark Gordon, Lislea. Registered. 23 April 1869.  Joseph Clarke, MD, Registrar. - sent to me by Barbara Braswell.  I now have a p'copy of the entry. 

Found his entry in Calendar of Wills, Probate Office, Derry:  313, Under £100, 3rd September, John Gordon, of Lislea, farmer, widower, died 11th April 1869, Letters of Administration issued to James Gordon, farmer, son and one of next of kin.

Letters of Administration of the personal estate of John Gordon late of Lislea County Londonderry Farmer a Widower deceased who died 11 April 1869 at same place were granted at Londonderry to James Gordon of Lislea (Kilrea) aforesaid Farmer the Son and one of the next of kin of said deceased.

DoB from her headstone which gives her age as 54 when she died in 1859.

The date of her death is illegible on her gravestone in 1st Kilrea PC.  She died before 1869 because her husband was a widower at death.  Jim Gordon, who did a rubbing of the gravestone on his visit from Connecticut in June 2005, says that he thinks the stone may have the date of death as 1859.  Jim and I cleaned the stone.  It says, "Died Jan-1-1859 aged 54".

According to her death certificate, Margaret Bell Kerr died on 4th January 1914 in Kilrea, aged 63, a widow, the widow of a labourer, of cardio vascular disease, her son, Thomas Kerr, of Kilrea, being present at death.  In fact, she was 77.

Age given as 51 in 1901 census makes him born in 1850 but his Date of Birth in 1st Kilrea Presbyterian Church records is 1844. 

Death certificate gives him dying aged 84 (=Date of Birth of 1844) of "Cerebral Embolism 4 years Cardiac Failure", a farmer, of Lislea.  Thomas Gordon son Lislea informant.
