Date of Death from Civil Registration, Derry Family History Centre.  Gives him as farmer from Lislea, Maria McKay Present at Death, died of cholera after 24 hours illness!!!!!!!!

Maria McKay was his daughter-in-law, Maria Gordon, married to James McKay.

DoB = aged 67 at death in 1865.

Date of Death from Civil Registration, Derry Family History Centre shows:  A farmer's widow, aged 67, suffered from "Inalerca" for three months, Nancy Gordon Present at Death.  This looks very like her but may not be.

DoD from Deaths Index where a Thomas Gordon is given as 75 when he died in 1901, registered in Coleraine 1.403.

This man also left a will showing he died on 21st December 1901.  He was a farmer of Lislea and left his wife Nancy Gordon his farm until her death at which point it went to his son, William Johnston, as long as he "behaved" and married someone approved by his mother!.  If he didn't, the farm was to go to another son, Robert "who is in America" as long as he came home and farmed  it.  A third son, John Maxwell, got £10, while a fourth, Thomas York got £5.

Probate of the Will of Thomas Gordon late of Lislea County Londonderry Farmer who died 27 December 1901 granted at Londonderry to William Toghill (Junior) and William H. M'Kay Farmers.

His obit states that he spent some time in America before returning to Lislea to farm.

Date of Birth not given in 1st Kilrea Presbyterian Church Baptism records but Date of Baptism given as 31st January 1837.  

I have a death of a William Gordon of Lislea in the Civil register for 1869 sent by Barbara Braswell which may be this man.  The age is slightly out - 29 at death as is the fact that he was a bachelor!  Informant was a Thomas Gordon.

Unfortunately she must have been born before 1825 when records at 1st Kilrea Presbyterian Church began - unlike so many of her siblings.  

Died pre May 1870 because her husband was a widower when he died in 1870.
