Jane Reid

Jane was born in 1825 in Ayrshire.¹ Jane's father was Alexander Reid and her mother was Elizabeth Hay. Her paternal grandparents were Adam Reid and Catharine Fulton. She had a brother and a sister, named Adam and Catherine. She was the second oldest of the three children. She had four half-brothers named William, Alexander, Thomas and Matthew.
