Jean's father was John McLuckie and her mother was Margaret Elizabeth Henderson.  Her maternal grandparents were James Henderson and Jean Aitken. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Alexander, James, John, James, Thomas, Michael, Mary and Margaret.  She was the second oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 20 on June 4th, 1850 in Polmont.
