Alexander's father was Andrew McCluskie Jr and his mother was Elisabeth McLuckie. His maternal grandparents were John McLuckie and Helen Baxter. He had three sisters, and also four siblings of unknown gender named Kate, Agnes, Helen, McCluskie, McCluskie, McCluskie and McCluskie. He died at the age of 53 on December 7th, 1938 in Colorado.
