Karen was born on August 8th, 1901. Karen's father was Jens Kristian Lund and her mother was Maren Holgersen Høstgaard. Her paternal grandparents were Jeppe Marinus Lund and Mette Katrine Christensen Lundgaard; her maternal grandparents were Holger Andersen Høstgaard and Karen Thomassen. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Marinus, Holger, Katrine and Olga. She was the oldest of the five children. She died due to natural causes or old age at the age of 99 in 2000.
