Isabella was born in 1824 in Ayr.1 2   Isabella's father was John Gray and her mother was Jean Reid.  Her maternal grandparents were Adam Reid and Catharine Fulton. She had a brother named John.  She was the younger of the two children.  She died at the age of 38 in 1862 in Ayr.
