AfterMr. Cowan's death, Mrs. Cowan still kept a studio there. Among hercanvases were those of the late John M. Van Osdel, her granduncle,Chicago's pioneer architect, and the John M. Smyth family. Inaddition to painting, Mrs. Cowan was noted as a church choir singer.Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock tomorrow in the Hyde ParkBaptist church. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery. Surviving Mrs.Cowan is a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Clouse." |
