Samuel, known as Sir, was born on January 5th, 1849 in Medonte Township, Upper Canada and his baptism took place on February 20th, 1848.1   Sir's father was Elmes STEELE and his mother is <Unknown>. He had a half-brother named John.  He died  due to Spanish influenza at the age of 70 on January 30th, 1919 in Putney, London England.  The funeral took place on February 1st, 1919 in London England and was arranged by State funeral.  His burial was in July 1919 in Winnipeg MB Canada.1 1
