Gertrude HEYLAND

Gertrude was born on December 12th, 1903 in Brigden, ON Canada.

Birth Notes
- The Social Security Death Index states Gertrudes birth date wasDecember 12, 1898.
  (Bud Hopkins) I found a copy of Gertrude Heyland's U.S. Social Security application. So, that was my source for a lot of the information in my data base. It was dated January 18, 1937 and signed by her. She lived in Windsor, Ontario at the time, and worked for Ethyl Gasoline Corporation in Detroit. That is the reason for her being on the Social Security rolls, as she worked in the U.S. Her date of birth is December 12, 1903, and she was born in Brigden, Ontario, Canada. So, the family must have lived there in 1903. Her father is listed as Robert Heyland and her mother as Anne E. Richardson, both deceased as of the date of application in 1937.

Gertrude's father was Robert HEYLAND and her mother was Annie E. RICHARDSON. Her paternal grandparents were John H. HIGHLAND and Letitia KENNY; her maternal grandparents were Thomas RICHARDSON and Sarah RAPLEY. She had a brother and three sisters, named Robert, Eva, Miriam and Madelon. She was the fourth oldest of the five children. She had a half-sister named Alice. She died at the age of 79 on November 9th, 1983 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.¹
