Dewitt was born on November 6th, 1904 in Wesson, MI.1   Dewitt's father was David Emery BUFFKIN and his mother was Addie Estell ROBERTSON (BUFFKIN/ALLEN).  His maternal grandparents were Jessie (Lott) Lott ROBERTSON and Francis (Lizzie) Elizabeth MAXWELL. He had a brother named David.  He was the older of the two children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Cecil, Carl and Winnie.  He died at the age of 62 on October 12th, 1967 in Olla, LaSalle Parish Louisianna USA.  His burial was in Olla Cemetery, LaSalle Parish, Louisianna USA.2 1
