Sarah was born in 1810.  Sarah's father was George ALLEN and her mother was Cynthia PATTON.  Her paternal grandparents were John ALLEN and Janet COLEMAN; her maternal grandparents were James Henry PATTON and Florence GRAHAM.  She had seven brothers and four sisters, named David W., William, George, Felix, Archibald, Samuel, John, Elizabeth, Florence, Cynthia and Mary.  She was the fourth oldest of the twelve children.
