William was born about 1698.  William's father was Thomas Marshall Sr and his mother was Margaret Chiley Cluly  Wells?? Clewly.  His paternal grandparents were William Marshall and Elizabeth Cockes Cocks Cox; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Clewly Cluly and even Chiley. Chiles?? Clewly and Margaret Clewly. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Mary, Thomas, Ann and Elizabeth Jane.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died about 1734.
