    Page 21 - "Thomas Marshall was the son of John and Jane (Humphrey) Marshall, John Marshall's will, probated in Woodford County, KY., Oct. 1810 names daughters: Mary Whittington, Elizabeth January, Jane and Nancy Marshall; and sons: Thomas Humphrey, and James (Will book C page 382). Thomas Marshall - b. c1752, d. post 1800, married (1) Sallie Johnston, (2) Mary Abbott. Pvt. (DAR) ..." " Thomas Marshall married Sarah "Sallie" Johnston in Culpeper County, VA. She was the eldest daughter of David and Annie (Abbott) Johnston. They came to what is now Giles County in 1778 with David Johnston and his family. Thomas and Sallie Marshall settled near the present dwelling house of George L. Snidow, Esq. (1906) on the ridge between Big and Little
    Stoney Creeks (towns of Pembroke and Klotz). Sallie Marshall died about 1790 and is buried by her parents in an unmarked grave on Paul Phlegars Farm, Klotz,VA. Soon after the birth of their daughter Agnes, called "Aggie", Thomas Marshall and his family (except baby Aggie, who was left behind and reared by her Grandmother Annie Johnston Fry) moved about 1795 to Powell's Valley, later to Kentucky where he died.
