Peter was born on April 25th, 1816 in Fayette, Seneca, New York.  Peter's father was John Marshall and his mother was Christiana Cocke? Cox? Koch.  His maternal grandparents were Peter Cocke? Cox? Koch and Margaret Bosserman. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William, Joseph G, John, Samuel, George W, Sarah, Elizabeth and Margaret C.  He was the fourth oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 80 on July 10th, 1896 in Fayette, Seneca, New York.
