Mary Ann "Polly" was born in 1823 in Missouri.  Mary Ann "Polly"'s father was Gen. William Henry indian trader  "poss Old John" Secretary to Indian Comission Indian Agent at Logansport Marshall and her mother was Betsy  (Elizabeth) LENNI LENAPE -Delaware Wilaquenaho Ketchum.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry Marshall and Mary; her maternal grandparents were Mr head chief, a principal chief of the Turtle Tribe of the Delawares Ta-whe-la-la (Catch Me) Ketchum and last wife Ahkechelungunaqua. She had three brothers and four sisters, named John M, Samuel, William Henry, Anna Annie, Rosanna, Sarah Ann and Elizabeth Jane.
