He had six brothers and two sisters, named Columbus Washington, David Luther, John C, William H, Samuel, Jerimiah F, Sarah M and Armilda E. He was the oldest of the nine children. He had a half-brother named Robert A. He died on February 27th, 1838. He was buried in Kinnear Cem Smyrna, Jefferson, Indiana.
