Andrew Martin was born on October 28th, 1811 in Sevier County, Tennessee.  Andrew Martin's father was Isaac Love and his mother was Mary Lewis.  His maternal grandparents were Mordecai Lewis and Mary Ziegler. He had eight brothers and five sisters, named William King, James Thomas, Alexander Preston, Mordecai Lewis, Reuben Blount, Isaac Moore, Elizabeth Thompson, John Wesley, Mary Lewis, Susannah, Sally KenCannon, Catherine McDonald and Margaret Mitchell Wear.  He was the fourth oldest of the fourteen children.
