James J was born on July 19th, 1822 in Donegal Twp, Westmoreland, PA.  James J's father was Hugh 2 wives 20 children Larimer Jr and his mother was Agnes "Nancy" MCDOWELL.  His paternal grandparents were Hugh LARRIMORE LAUREMORE LAMAR can be LATIMER by mistake Larimer and Mary; his maternal grandparents were William MCDOWELL and Elizabeth Shannon. He had seven brothers named Alexander, William McDowell, Eli Coulter, Wilson King, George Sampson Simpson??, Noah H and others.
