Count Ruprecht of Virneburg II

Ruprecht was born in 1269 in Virneburg, Rheinland, Prussia.¹ Ruprecht's father was Count Heinrich of Virneburg I and his mother was Ponzette von Oberstein. His paternal grandparents were Count Hermann of Virneburg III/V and Countess Luitgardis of Nassau; his maternal grandparents were Eberhard von Oberstein III and <Unknown>. He had five brothers and eight sisters, named Friedrich, Eberhard, Heinrich, Werner, Philipp, Mathilde, Aleidis, Margarethe, Imagine, Lise, Ponzette, Jutte and Elisabeth. He was the sixth oldest of the fourteen children. He died at the age of 39 in 1308.¹
