Richiza, known as Sventoslava, was born on April 12th, 1116 in Krakbow, Poland.1   Sventoslava's father was Prince Boleslaw (Crooked Mouth) of Poland III and her mother was Countess Salome of Berg-Schelklingen.  Her paternal grandparents were Prince Wladislaw Herman of Poland I and Princess Judita of Bohemia I; her maternal grandparents were Count Heinrich of Berg and Countess Adelaide of Monchenthal. She had five brothers and seven sisters, named Leszek, The Curly, The Old, Henryk, The Just, Adelajda, Zofia, Gertruda, Dobronega, Judyta, Agnieszka and Pribislawa.  She was the third oldest of the thirteen children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named The Exile and Zbyslawa.
