Sir Gilbert de Stapleton 
Gilbert was born in 1291 in Stapleton, Yorkshire, England.1 Gilbert's father was Miles de Stapleton and his mother was Sybil Beaulieu. His paternal grandparents were Geoffrey de Stapleton and Margery Basset; his maternal grandparents were Sir John Beaulieu and Luderaine de Brus. He was an only child. He died at the age of 40 on June 23rd, 1331 in Carleton, East Riding, Yorkshire, England.2 General Notes
She [Agnes FitzAlan] married, before 15 December 1317, Gilbert de Stapelton, a younger son of the said Miles: he died before 23 June 1324.

Summoned by Archbishop Grenefield to Doncaster to consider the defence of the Realm, 1315. Summoned for military service against the Scots, 1319.
