Sir Hugh de Shirley

Hugh was born in 1358 in Shirley, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, England.¹ Hugh's father was Thomas de Shirley and his mother was Isabel de Meynell. His paternal grandparents were Ralph de Shirley and Margaret de Waldegrave; his maternal grandparents were Hugh de Meynell and Alice de Audley. He was an only child. He died as a war casualty, Battle of Shrewsbury, at the age of 45 on July 22nd, 1403 in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England.¹
