John Howard Spikes 
John Howard was born on May 30th, 1902 in Durham Co, NC. John Howard's father was Atlas Norman Spikes and his mother was Etta Proctor Watts. His maternal grandparents were John M. Watts and Malinda 'Linda' E. Proctor. He had two brothers named Norman Owen and Lewis Everett. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 15 on April 30th, 1918 in Durham, Durham Co, NC. He was buried on May 1st, 1918 in Maplewood Cemetery, Durham, Durham Co, NC.General Notes
