Ellen was born about 1325 in Mobberley, Bucklow, Cheshire, Eng. .¹ Ellen's father was William Mobberley and her mother was Mrs. Maud Mobberley. Her paternal grandparents were William Sheriff of Cheshire De Mobberley and Maude Downs. She had a brother and six sisters, named William, Emma, Mary, Joan, Agnes, Elizabeth and Cecily.
