Theophylaktos was born in 0903 in Constantinople, Byzantine Empire.1 Theophylaktos' father was Emperor Romanus Lekapenos of Byzantium I and his mother was Theodora of Byzantium. His paternal grandparents were Theophylaktos Abstartus and <Unknown>. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Throphylanos, Christophoros, Stephanos, Konstantinos, Eleni and Agatha. He was the third youngest of the seven children.-
