Shirley Ethel's father was Morris Sampson Hitchcock and her mother was Mary Leona Jaco. Her maternal grandparents were John Evans Jaco and Mary Frances Simmons. She had four brothers and a sister, named Leffie Tomlinson, Flavis Lloyd, Thurman Leard, Liston G. and Iris Grace.General Notes
