John W. Givens 
John W. was born on February 4th, 1830 in near Tradewater, Hopkins County, Kentucky. John W.'s father was John Allen "Jack" Givens and his mother was Martha "Patsy" Givens. His paternal grandparents were Thomas G. Givens and Elizabeth (Betsy) Kerr. He had a sister named Eliza Jane. He was the younger of the two children.General Notes
