Mary Susie was born on February 6th, 1862. Mary Susie's father was George Henry Foster and her mother was Sarah Ann Elizabeth Gray. Her paternal grandparents were Austin Foster and Lucinda Boyd. She had six brothers and five sisters, named James Edward, Samuel Berry, John Thomas, Henry Tweed, Charles Jasper, Benjamin "Bennie" Newton, Nancy Ann, Georgianna, Lena Belle, Lucettia and Lorisettie. She was the oldest of the twelve children.-
