David B was born on March 1st, 1886 in Glasgow, Kentucky. David B's father was James "Jim " Austin Foster and his mother was Sue Ella Button. His paternal grandparents were John William Foster and Martha Ann Allen. He had three brothers and four sisters, named James " Ed" Edie, William "Will" Morgan, Samie D, Dra Ann, Sarah A, Minnie Lee and Nellie F.. He was the third oldest of the eight children.-
