Earl of Angus Archibald Douglas VI 
Archibald was born in 1489.1 Archibald's father was Laird of Angus George Douglas and his mother was Elizabeth Drummond. His paternal grandparents were 5th Earl of Angus Archibald Douglas and Elizabeth Boyd; his maternal grandparents were Lord Drummond Sir John Drummond and Countess of Lennox Elizabeth Lindsay. He had a brother and three sisters, named George, Margaret, Elizabeth and Janet. He was the oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 68 in 1557.1 General Notes

****Erysipelas is a superficial bacterial skin infection that characteristically extends into the cutaneous lymphatics. This disease has been traced back to the Middle Ages where it was referred to as "St Anthony’s Fire," named after an Egyptian healer who was known for successfully treating the infection. Classically, this infection is caused by Streptococcus pyogenes and occurs on the face.
