John Cokayne

John was born in 1384 in Ashbourne, Hatley, Derbyshire, England.¹ John's father was Edmund Cokayne and his mother was Elizabeth Herthull. His paternal grandparents were John Cokayne and Elizabeth de Grey; his maternal grandparents were Adam Herthull and Christian Pooley. He had four brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Edmund, George, Richard and Ellen. He was the youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 54 in 1438 in Ashbourne, Hatley, Derbyshire, England.¹
