Winifred Carter

Winifred was born on October 30th, 1580 in Kempston, Bedfordshire, England.¹ Winifred's father was William Carter Jr. and her mother was Mary Anscell. Her paternal grandparents were William Carter Sr. and Elizabeth Glover Cranfield; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Anscell and Elizabeth Wheatley. She had eight brothers and eight sisters, named Thomas, Nicholas, William, Oliver, William, Robert, John, William, Anne, Mary, Amye, Elizabeth, Temperence, Anne, Ursula and Alice.
