John Bethune 
John was born in 1499 in Balfour, Fifeshire, Scotland. John's father was John Bethune and his mother was Elizabeth Monypenny. His paternal grandparents were John Bethune and Marjory Boswell. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Walter, Thomas, George, James, Beatrice, Elizabeth, Margaret, Janet and David. He was the fourth youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 67 in 1566 in Pitmilly, Kingsbarns, Fifeshire, Scotland.-
