Joseph's baptism took place on August 18th, 1771 in North Bradley.1  Joseph's father was William Peirce and his mother was Rachel Lucas.  His maternal grandparents were John Lucas and Mary Combs. He had four brothers and four sisters, named William, Benjamin, William, John, Mary, Elizabeth, Sarah and Betty.  He died in 1774.  He was buried on June 12th, 1774 in North Bradley.2
