Maria was born in October 1777 and her baptism took place on July 11th, 1779 in North Bradley.1  Maria's father was Enos Bennet and her mother was Mary Hayward.  Her paternal grandparents were Enos Bennet and widow Sarah Noyse; her maternal grandparents were William Hayward and Edith Cooke. She had three brothers and a sister, named Enos, James, Absolom and Sarah.
