George Purchas Goad

George was born on February 16th, 1814 and his baptism took place on June 15th, 1814 in Fort St George, Madras, Tamil Nadu, India.¹²

George's father was Samuel Thomas Goad and his mother was Maria Jane Boileau. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, William, Henry, Charles, <Unknown>, Maria and Emma. He died at the age of 34 on July 14th, 1848. His burial was in Jullundur, India.³

  Grave at Jullundur - "Sacred to the memory of the late Lieut. George Purchas Goad Interpr and Qr Master 1st regt Bengal Native Infantry who died at Jullundur on the 14th July 1848 aged 34 years. This monument is erected by his brother officers as a testimony of their esteem and regret for his loss."
