Francis was born in 1868 in Hackbridge, Carshalton, Surrey and his baptism took place on September 4th, 1868 in Beddington with Wallington, Surrey.1 2  Francis' father was Edwin Curtis Goad and his mother was Lucy Ellen.  His paternal grandparents were William Goad and Minna Wilhelmina Jacqueline. He had six brothers and three sisters, named William, Edwin, Charles, Alfred, Basil, George, Florence, Eva and Constance.  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.





Francis' family

Francis and Annie were married in a religious ceremony on March 28th, 1894 in Beddington, Surrey by Vicar F.F. Lambert and witnessed by Lucy R Goad, William Goad, John A. Wanklyn.3  They had two sons and a daughter, named John, Robert and May.
