Blanche was born in 1818 in Storrington, Sussex.1   Blanche's father was Rev William Bradford and her mother was Martha.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Bradford and Elizabeth Otter. She had a brother and a sister, named Wilmot and Cathrine.  She was the youngest of the three children.
