Clara Ann Wood

Clara was born in 1826 and her baptism took place on June 30th, 1826 in Brighton St Nicholas conducted by minister Robert Anderson.^1 2   Clara's father was George Wood and her mother was Sophia Eliza Otway David (W Ham).  Her paternal grandparents were Henry Wood (of Ditchling) and Sarah Wood (of Hurst*); her maternal grandparents were Francis David and Sarah Baker. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named George, Frederic, Frederic, Francis, William, Harry, Edwin, Sophia, Emma and Fanny.  She was the fifth youngest of the eleven children.
