Ruth was born on September 16th, 1879 in Chester.

Ruth's father was Nehemiah Curnock and her mother was Sarah Baron Corderoy. Her paternal grandparents were Nehemiah Curnock and Mary Whereat; her maternal grandparents were Edward Corderoy and Sarah Henson Baron. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Clement, George, William, Mary, Edy, Gertrude, Ella, Maud and Mabel. She died at the age of 88 in March 1968 in Webheath, redditch.
