Henry (Harry) Curnock

Henry, known as Harry, was born in 1815. Harry's father was Dennis Curnock and his mother was Ann Edgley Hopkins. His paternal grandparents were James Curnock and Sarah Dowdell. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Nehemiah, James, George, Sarah and Annie. He was the third oldest of the six children.

  Henry, also called Harry, joined Wesleyan Reform Society, which split from the Wesleyan Methodist Church in 1849. This caused him to be divided from the rest of his relatives. The Wesleyan Reformers, as they were more commonly known, split over the annual Conference's authority. James Everett led the criticism of the Wesleyan Methodist leadership by writing a series of articles entitled "Fly sheets from the Private Correspondent".
