Maria Magdalena was born on April 5th, 1845 in Misgund, Langekloof, Mosselbaai and her baptism took place on January 25th, 1846 in Mosselbaai.1   Maria Magdalena's father was Nicolaas (Groot Klaas) Claasen and her mother was Johanna Isabella Jordaan.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 34 on January 7th, 1880 in Langefontein, Mosselbaai.1
