James was born on January 21st, 1883. James' father was James Hishon Moran and his mother was Clare Eileen McDermott. His paternal grandparents were James Moran and Sara(h) Hishon (Hisson/Heshin); his maternal grandparents were James McDermott and Catherine Donnellan. He had four brothers and four sisters, named William, Hugh, Boy (stillborn), John, Kathleen, Clare (Sr Mary Patrick), Frances and Oonagh. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died due to natural causes or old age at the age of 84 on February 20th, 1967.
