Kearney (Oxley), are invited to attend the Funeral of her beloved Husband, their Father, Father-in-law and Grandfather, Fletcher Young, late inspector of Mines (Cloncurry and Rockhampton), to leave the Funeral Chapel, 17 Peel Street, South Brisbane This (Saturday) Afternoon, at 2.30 o'clock, for the Mt. Thompson Crematorium. Service at 2.15."

"OBITUARY
Mr. Fletcher Young, a former inspector of mines, who spent 33 years of his official life in North Queensland, and was a familiar figure on mining fields from Rockhampton to Croydon, passed away recently. Mr. Young, who was the first graduate of the Charters Towers School of Mines, was appointed assistant inspector of mines at Croydon in 1907. He went to Chillagoe, in 1911 and was transferred to the Cloncurry mining district in 1913 where he served for 24 years. Then he went to Rockhampton where he was stationed when he retired from the Public Service in 1939 and where he continued to reside up to the time of his death. Mr. Young was 78 and is survived by Mrs. Young, of Hunter Street, Rockhampton, three sons and one daughter."
