Catherina was born on January 7th, 1734 in Meeuwen and her baptism took place there on January 10th, 1734.  Catherina's father was Egidius Gaethofs and her mother was Catharina Indekeu (IN DE KUIJE).  Her paternal grandparents were Joannes Gaethofs and Gertrudis Loys. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Clemens, Joannes, Maria, Gertrudis, Christina, Helena and Maria.  Helena and Catherina were twins.
