Franciska was born on October 28th, 1822 in Schaffen.¹ Franciska's father was Gaspard Gaethofs and her mother was Antonia (Antonetta) Schillebeeks. Her paternal grandparents were Jean (Joannes) Gaethofs and Catherina Vandebos (Vandenbosch); her maternal grandparents were Hendrik Schillebeeks and Maria Molders. She had a brother and three sisters, named Ferdinand, Maria Christina, Maria Veronica and Maria Veronica. She was the oldest of the five children. She had two half-sisters named Rosina and Maria Elisabeth Blanka. She died at the age of 69 on March 3rd, 1892 in Eksel.²
