Egidius was born in 1772 and his baptism took place on October 5th, 1772 in Meeuwen.1   Egidius' father was Arnoldus Reitser (Reijtsers) and his mother was Christina Elisabeth Gathofs (Gaeters) (Gaethofs).  His paternal grandparents were Lambrich Reitzer and Elisabeth Leurs; his maternal grandparents were Egidius Gaethofs and Catharina Indekeu (IN DE KUIJE).  He had two brothers and a sister, named Lambertus, Michel and Catharina Elisabeth.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 42 on November 16th, 1814 in Peer.1
